Our Curriculum Overview

A Commitment to Excellence

At Indira Higher Primary and High School, we believe that education is not just about acquiring knowledge, but about shaping character, building confidence, and encouraging curiosity. Our academic program is designed to nurture well-rounded individuals by blending classroom learning with co-curricular development. We provide a structured, values-based education that prepares students to face future challenges with confidence and clarity.

Curriculum Structure

Our curriculum is aligned with the guidelines of the Karnataka State Education Board and is thoughtfully structured to meet the academic needs of students at each stage of development:
Primary School (Grades 1 to 7):
Focuses on building a strong foundation in language, mathematics, science, and life skills through interactive and activity-based learning. Special attention is given to reading habits, handwriting, basic calculations, and environmental awareness.
High School (Grades 8 to 10):
Prepares students for board examinations with in-depth subject knowledge, problem-solving skills, and application-based understanding. Emphasis is also placed on time management, exam techniques, and career awareness.

Teaching Methodology

We adopt a student-centered teaching approach that focuses on:
Interactive Classrooms: Encouraging students to ask questions, participate in discussions, and work on group activities.
Activity-Based Learning: Hands-on activities, science experiments, and subject-related projects enhance conceptual clarity.
Smart Learning Tools: Use of visual aids, digital content, and smart board teaching in selected classes.
Individual Attention: Our teachers closely monitor each child’s academic and personal growth, providing support as needed.
We believe in making learning enjoyable, practical, and deeply rooted in real-life experiences.

Assessment & Evaluation

Student performance is assessed continuously through:
Formative Assessments (FAs): Regular class tests, assignments, and oral presentations.
Summative Assessments (SAs): Mid-term and annual examinations to evaluate overall understanding.
Practical Exams: Especially in science and computer studies for higher grades.
Parent-Teacher Meetings: Held regularly to discuss student progress and areas of improvement.
Our evaluation process focuses not just on marks but on identifying the strengths and challenges of each student to provide the right support.
